At EcobanCapro AG (or “Ecobanka”, as we prefer to be known), we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of visitors to our website. In this Privacy Policy, you’ll find information on how we treat the data that we collect from visitors, in relation to your use of our website and any products or services we supply to you.​

1. Definitions and interpretation​

The boring part our legal team made us do. In this Policy, the following terms shall have the following meanings:​

“Account” means collectively the personal information, payment information, and credentials used by Users to access Material and/or any communications system on the website;​

2. Types of data we collect and why​

2.1 Personal Information. This includes any information that may be used to identify you. Generally, you can browse the website without giving us any personal information. However, when signing up for an account or completing a purchase, any of the following data may be collected:​

f. Contact information such as email address and telephone number/s​

We collect this information for a couple of reasons; to send email reminders or updates for services you have, to collect payment for services or products due, to contact you if we need to obtain additional information or to check our records are right, comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, as well as contact you via email or telephone about promotional materials that may be of interest to your business or to conduct market research that will help us improve the website.​

2.2 Automatic, statistical data. We use third-party services, including Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information that helps us analyze traffic to the website and understand visitor behavior and the needs to make continuous improvements to the site and your user experience. 2.3 Any personal data you submit will be retained by EcobanCapro AG for as long as you use the services or systems provided on the website. Data that you submit through any communications System that we may provide may be retained for a longer period.​

2.4 Unless we are obliged or permitted by law to do so, and subject to clause 3 below, your data will not be disclosed to third parties. This does not include our affiliates and/or other companies within our group where you have specifically asked for contact to be made. We do not rent, trade, or sell email lists with other organizations and businesses.

4.3 You may access your Account at any time to view or amend the data, and you may also need to update your data if your circumstances change. Additional data related to your marketing preferences may also be stored; you can change this at any time.​

5. Cookies​

5.1 EcobanCapro AG may use ‘Cookies’ to receive and store certain details whenever a user interacts with us.​

5.2 A ‘Cookie’ is a small text file that is stored by the browser on your computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Websites are able to read and write these files, allowing them to store things such as personalization details or user preferences. By providing this “memory” for the website, they enable it to recognize a user and respond appropriately. Each web domain can only access cookies stored by that specific web domain, meaning that only the ECOBANKA servers can access the Cookies set by the ECOBANKA domains.​

5.3.3 Anonymous analytics cookies: Our web analytics software uses this cookie to compile anonymous usage statistics (eg. number of visitors, which pages are visited most etc.). We use this information to measure how well the website is doing and to look for ways to improve your experience.​

5.3.4 Third-party social cookies: A cookie may be generated on some pages of the website, notably our blog when a user interacts with the embedded social sharing buttons (eg. Likes, Tweets, or 1s a post). These cookies are created by third-party social sites and are used to record the action you’ve taken, such as Liking a page.​

if you are not in the UK, your Personal Data will be transferred to and processed in the EU​

At ECOBANKA, we employ strong security measures throughout the entire information processing lifecycle. Our infrastructure is built to provide secure deployment and processing of services, secure data communications, and storage. It is also important to understand that no system is 100% secure. while we will do our best to ensure your information stays safe, ECOBANKA cannot guarantee the security of data. We have mechanisms in place to deal with any suspected data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.​

The following outlines our data security policy:​

To help protect Customer Data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access, MadeSimple will implement and maintain technical and organizational procedures from the point of collection to the point of destruction. Personal data will only be transferred to a Data Processor if he agrees to comply with those procedures and policies, or if he puts in place adequate measures himself.​

The Security Measures include but are not limited to: ​

Methods of disposal: Paper documents are stored in the secure shredding bins provided. Digital storage devices are deposited in the same manner. Hard drives retained by the IT department and destroyed securely ​

Encryption: ECOBANKA makes use of HTTPS encryption techniques to protect our systems and customer’s data in transit to ECOBANKA sites is protected using HTTPS, which is activated by default for all users​

Access Controls: For ECOBANKA employees, access rights and levels are based on job function and role, using the concepts of least privilege and need-to-know to match access privileges to defined responsibilities. To help ensure ongoing confidentiality and integrity, ECOBANKA will take appropriate steps to ensure any employees, contractors and Sub processors process data applicable to their scope of performance, including ensuring only persons authorized can process Customer Personal Data.​

All payment details are transmitted over SSL and stored in compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).​

ECOBANKA’s internal data access processes and policies are designed to restrict unauthorized persons and/or systems from gaining access to systems used to process personal data. ​

ECOBANKA’s production servers are only accessible by a limited number of authorized personnel. LDAP, Kerberos, and systems utilizing SSH certificates are designed to provide secure and flexible access to systems​

ECOBANKA incorporates strong password policies, two-factor authentication, and carefully monitored access lists to minimize the potential for unauthorized account use. Access to systems is logged to create an audit trail for accountability. Where passwords are employed for authentication (e.g., login to workstations), password policies that follow at least industry standard practices are implemented.​

Vulnerability Management: We regularly scan for software vulnerabilities using third-party security advisors and in-house tools, intensive automated and manual penetration testing, and software security reviews. We leverage a range of products and tools to further protect personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing.​

Personal devices: ECOBANKA allows users to connect their corporate accounts to their personal devices. ​

ECOBANKA manages and monitors apps and data linked to their corporate profile. Before a user can connect their corporate account, they must agree to our data privacy terms and conditions when a user leaves the company, their work profile is remotely disabled and wiped removing any corporate data. ​

Data Storage: ECOBANKA makes use of a highly redundant platform. Data and backups are stored securely in the cloud and are geographically distributed to protect against data loss. Database and file systems are replicated across multiple platforms to ensure a high level of redundancy.​

8. Data Retention​

8.1 We will only retain your Personal Data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.​

8.2 Retention periods vary depending on the type of Personal Data. However, we are legally required to keep basic information about our customers (including contact, identity, financial, and transaction data) for six years after they cease being customers, for tax purposes.​

8.3 We may also anonymize your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes. We can use anonymized information indefinitely without further notice to you.​

9. Changes in business ownership and control​

9.1 EcobanCapro AG may, from time to time, expand or reduce its business and this may involve the sale of certain divisions or the transfer of control of certain divisions to other parties. Data provided by Users will, where it is relevant to any division so transferred, be transferred along with that division, and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this Policy, be permitted to use the Data for the purposes for which it was supplied by you.​

9.2 In the event that any data submitted by users will be transferred in such a manner, you will not be contacted in advance and informed of the changes. When contacted you will not be given the choice to have your Data deleted or withheld from the new owner or controller (this does not affect your statutory rights).​
